What is Collaborative Practice?

Information for Client About What Happens at First & Subsequent Four-Way Meetings

  1. Identify what you need to talk about or questions you need to answer in order to finish.

  1. Inform the meeting about everything you and other client have already agreed to.

  2. Identify any pressing or urgent concerns you need to talk about at 1st four-way meeting.

  3. Share list of information you have brought to meeting.

  4. Discuss partial agenda for next four-way meeting and confirm date, time and place of next meeting.

  5. Identify further information or documents you need to bring to subsequent four-way meetings.

  6. Read minutes of each four-way meeting as soon as you receive them.

  7. Put your minutes in your Client Folder.

  8. Do all tasks listed for you on the To Do List.

  9. Re-read both the Collaborative Practice Contract and Expectations of Clients and Professionals immediately before each four-way meeting.

  10. The Collaborative Practice Contract is a legally binding, written agreement that sets out these principles and provides a safe place for you to negotiate with the other client.

  11. The Collaborative Practice Process is focused on you and the other client.
